McArthur are seeking an experienced Diploma Qualified Educator for an opportunity located in Bundoora. This role is to assist in leading an autism specific playroom alongside a supportive and passionate team of educators.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a transdisciplinary team implementing the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) in the care and education of children (aged 1-5 years) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

In this role, you will have the experience to assist in developing, planning, implementing and evaluating an education program that reflects the mission, operational statements and the ESDM. The successful candidate will undertake full training in the ESDM.

The playroom has the capacity for 10 children per day with 3 full time educators in addition to this role. All staff are trained in ESDM which is delivered throughout the daily routines and play. This role is working full time Monday to Friday.

Essential Requirements:

  • Diploma of Children's Services
  • Current WWCC, National Police Check (within last 6 month
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis Certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a curriculum for children with autism - as well as the ability to participate in the development, implementation and review of training programs for staff, families and carers
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal verbal and written communication
