Located 250kms north of Brisbane and centred on the twin cities of Hervey Bay and Maryborough, the Fraser Coast region is home to 100,000 residents and a thriving mixed-business economy. Providing strong transformational leadership and strategic direction to the Development Compliance team, you will ensure the highest quality standard of statutory compliance as Principal Building Certifier within the Fraser Coast region. You will provide expert advice to Council's internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of building planning and related technical compliance issues.

The ability to develop programs designed to identify and prioritise high risk and high value issues is essential along with possessing sound commercial acumen. You must have demonstrated experience in building certification, operational experience in managing investigations and enforcement action in relation to planning, building and plumbing and drainage matters.

A natural problem solver and strong communicator, you can quickly build credibility and confidence across a broad range of stakeholders including your own team, local communities and Councillors.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Town Planning or related discipline are essential, as is a current licence with the QLD Building & Construction Commission (Building Certifier L3) or the ability to obtain.
