The City of Ryde is looking for a Manager, Health and Building to lead the Health & Building department in provision of efficient, responsive, consistent and customer focused Building Compliance and Certification services and Environmental Health Monitoring and Compliance services.

As Manager Health & Building, you will oversee the department’s policies, systems, procedures and practices and deliverables associated with certification of buildings, inspection of food premises, regulation of pollution, and enforcement of development control conditions.

Your role will have a strong focus on working closely with the senior executive team in actively contributing to strategic business planning and overall policy direction.

With relevant tertiary qualifications in an associated discipline, you will have extensive experience in the management of relevant building development control and environmental health delivery enforcement activities and:

• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team

• Knowledge of industrial relations, equal opportunity and safety legislation

• Highly developed communication, problem solving, negotiation and formal presentation skills relevant to public health and compliance matters

• Highly developed skills in innovative continuous improvement, process review and procedure development.
