The Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria is a values-driven statutory body with a mission to protect the public and the health and welfare of animals by regulating veterinary practitioners in Victoria through the effective administration of the Veterinary Practice Act 1997 ("the Act"). An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced, professional Legal practitioner to join the team as their Compliance Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager & Registrar and working closely with the Board, this role will see you support the elevation of Veterinary professional standards, employing best-practice investigation and compliance methods in a contemporary regulation environment. You will lead a small team to provide the Board with high quality information and advice and will thrive seeking opportunities to optimise compliance processes and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include: -

  • Supporting the Board to fulfil its regulatory obligations
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the compliance team and as well as hands-on management of a small caseload of complex, sensitive matters.
  • Responsibility for systems, processes and outcomes as they relate to the Act.
  • Contributing/responsible for best practice contemporary approach to regulation

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified, practising lawyer specialising in areas of law directly relevant to regulatory compliance with proven experience of leading investigations into complex compliance matters.
