Research & Policy Officer

This organisation act as a focus for research activities, provide technical advice to assist member organisations and make submissions on behalf of its members. They have a long standing relationship and deep relationships with their member organisations.

The main function of your position is to deliver priority projects identified by the organisation and to accomplish the objectives of the Roads and Transport Directorate including servicing the Management Committee and Technical Committees, conducting and or commissioning research and liaising with Government Departments and other stakeholders.

Ideally you will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering, Infrastructure, Transport or Planning or equivalent
  • Minimal of 3-5 years experience in the roads and transport industry
  • Policy, project development and project delivery skills
  • Understanding of road and transport issues, particularly as they relate to Local Government
  • High level oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise and negotiate across a range of agencies
  • Sound understanding of market research and needs analysis

This remuneration for this role is up to $120k package. Currently the organisation is in WFH mode but expect to be transitioning back to a hybrid wfh/office environment in the coming weeks.
