The Burnie City Council serves a municipality of 19,000 people. We are a University City with a new $50m building program underway as well as being home to Tasmania’s largest commercial port and the gateway to West Coast tourism and mining sectors.

Burnie City Council is seeking to engage the services of a committed and highly capable person to the position of General Manager to support Council and our active community.

The key focus for our new General Manager will be to:

* Lead a program of innovation and business improvement

* Develop genuine community connections

* Foster good governance and transparency

* Engage and deliver the strategic goals

* Lead change to align with sector demands

* Enhance State and Federal Government relationships

We are looking for an individual who will be a visible presence in the community and suitably represent the interests of Council. You will have high energy and a desire to lead change and make a genuine difference.

You will also be politically astute, have a passion for building positive relationships within our community and demonstrate professional and ethical behaviour.
