Located in Sydney, south-west of the CBD, the City of Canterbury Bankstown is a treasure chest full of exotic foods, unique shops and diverse cultures. The Council was formed after an amalgamation of the City of Canterbury and the City of Bankstown in 2016. The merger now sees the council managing the largest population in NSW across nearly 50 suburbs and close to 1,000km of road network.
Council is looking for a highly skilled Senior Traffic Services Officer to be responsible for taking a leadership role in the Council's approach to traffic and transport management and road safety. There is a mandate from the top down to focus on delivering results that are based on the customer, through the provision of practical, safe and effective solutions with respect to all elements of traffic and transport safety.
The ideal candidate will possess the relevant qualifications and demonstrated success in a similar role. You will be comfortable in supporting, coaching and mentoring team members whilst collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of a range of projects, the implementation of new policies and procedures and the utilisation of your impressive knowledge of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Guidelines.
You will have demonstrated political acumen and will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with State and Federal Governments in the acquisition of grants that will enable the team to fulfil its long term strategic goals. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be first class along with your customer-centric approach to work.
