Located in Sydney, south-west of the CBD, the City of Canterbury Bankstown is a treasure chest full of exotic foods, unique shops and diverse cultures. The Council was formed after an amalgamation of the City of Canterbury and the City of Bankstown in 2016. The merger now sees the council managing the largest population in NSW across nearly 50 suburbs and close to 1,000km of road network.
Council is looking for a Team Leader Traffic & Transport Services who will be instrumental in providing strategic direction for the entire team. Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Services, the Team Leader will be responsible for a team of eight, plus temporary staff, providing them with leadership and direction in terms of the traffic and transport management and road safety for the entire Council area. There is a strong mandate to re-imagine how the council does business so you will be actively supported to bring change and implement new technologies with a view to making the division even more successful.
The ideal candidate will possess the relevant qualifications and demonstrated success in a similar role. You will be comfortable in driving change and have extensive experience in leading, motivating and coordinating a team. Your understanding of and experience in the presentation of project briefs, budgets and construction plans will be highly advantageous.
You will have demonstrated political acumen and will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with State and Federal Governments in the acquisition of grants and interfacing with State Significant Transport projects, that will enable the team to fulfil its long term strategic goals for our community. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be first class along with your customer-centric approach to work.
